Show off your feet!

Bring out the sandals, it’s that time of year again! Now that warmer weather has approached let your feet breathe. Unless that is you are embarrassed by the yellow, thick appearance of your toe nails. If that is the case you are part of the 20% of the population that has a fungus infection in the toenails.

If not treated properly you could end up with toenails that are painful, hard to cut and the gradual deterioration of the nail could interfere with your ability to walk and exercise.

A fungus infection starts in one nail through small openings. The nail provides a safe place for the infection and protects it while it grows, which can make it very difficult to stop the growth. As the infection grows your toenails will change in appearance, becoming hard, distorted and discolored.  Not pretty at all!

However, there is a way we use to treat this nasty infection.

Specialized Lasers. Not only does this technique offer a quick in office visit, but it is also virtually painless. You may feel a gentle warming or tingling as the laser works. This treatment is effective and efficient in removing toenail fungus and the number of treatments will depend on the severity of your condition. It’s possible to see improvement within two months!

We also recommend using Dr.’s Remedy Enriched Nail Polish. It can be purchased over the counter and was created by doctors and designed to be free from harmful toxins. This is a great alternative to commercial nail polish and can be used to treat nail fungus, brittle, discolored nails or if you have an allergy to chemicals used in other nail polishes.

You don’t have to be embarrassed about your toes. You can wear sandals, show off your feet and enjoy the sand between your toes this summer.
