Nail fungi are tiny organisms that move under nails and can infect fingernails and toenails. Nails provides a safe place for the fungus and protects it while it grows, making it harder to rid and cure. The toenails are the most commonly infected area because our shoes and socks keep it moist and dark, providing an ideal breeding ground for this contagious fungus.
